For our final project in our program we have to design a medical device and build it from scratch so that an actual patient can use it in their day to day lives and our professor told us that if the device exceeds expectations and is viable you can actually get it commercialized and mass produced but he said this hasn’t happened yet.

I don't know about the "ton" part
because I look at these old farts on my team and wonder how they could have done this regular ass job for 10y+
