Yup time to disavow Bernie for promoting regulated capitalism f***ing shill 🤣
Yeah, but hopefully the situation where in right now is setting up for someone going even further left than Bernie. It’s bound to happen when we have two depressions this close to each other.
And then act angry and confused when an election doesn’t go their way.
People really convinced themselves that insular twitter circles were representative of reality, and some mythical group of unaccounted for voters was just going to materialize and win them the primary...
Now that I think of it... there may be a chance some of them don’t actually want a revolution or actual change in the system because then they would no longer be the underdogs and would be held accountable by the general public if things werent running well. The rest of them don’t understand that the leftist vocal minority on the internet in know way resembles the actual sentiments of america

Recessions actually used to happen a lot closer to each other. The run between 2009-2020 is the longest period of growth, and it’s not even certain that the recession this time will be as difficult to escape as the one in 2008

There definitely is a contrarian element to it.
These people wouldn’t think twice about throwing Bernie under the bus when he was inevitably unable to deliver on half the things he promised just by nature of the job.

Yeah but I meant more like if there actually was a socialist government in America. People would find that poverty would still exist, wages wouldn’t rise as dramatically as they thought, and they would have to deal with shortages in consumer goods if it was a planned economy. In that case, the guys on twitter would no longer be freedom fighters trying to change the system, but guys who have to defend it. And for anybody trying to attack this post, I know capitalism has its own problems like homelessness and inequality, but which downsides are the people willing to put up with

The downsides of capitalism are abhorrent, there's no way to justify them without coming off like a coffehouse liberal.
Right wingers are genuinely deceived and ignorant. But the wealthy Warren/Pete type liberals know exactly what they're doing, and its upholding a system that benefits only them

Smug prick
What are your other interests besides neoliberalism?

I enjoy hiking, pizza, The Office, horses, taking selfies in the gym ☺️
What are the plans for the conventions? Clearly they aren't going to go as originally planned and they can't be pushed back any further than July.

The downsides of capitalism that you find so abhorrent (poverty, violence) have existed and will exist in socialist countries. The difference is, it’s possible to bring homelessness down to almost nothing under capitalist systems, but in planned economies there have always been chronic shortages

You've seen the shortages we have here rn right? Thats what happens when capitalism says the most efficient means of profit is to outsource all of your antibiotics and medical supplies to China

The shortages we have now are specifically tied to the crisis, and even then are resolved within weeks. In normal running eastern bloc economies, people had to wait in lines for food. That’s lame. And it’s not even like at least nobody was poor, like there was still poverty, malnourishment, and even homelessness in some of these countries. Also with the rise of automation, outsourcing may start to take a backseat. The thing is even under socialism, we would have to work together on a global scale because resources aren’t distributed evenly. That global socialist economy would also be in trouble due to the quarantine

They might just make all the future states do it around April-May by mail ballot only

Idk what kind of socialist I am tbh. According to tests I've taken they put me as libertarian socialist/ Chomsky type.
Thats not what was featured in the East. I dont think its ever existed anywhere
