I really appreciated his framing of the Green New Deal as the required ambition to tackle the climate crisis, and tying it back to the beginning of the debate regarding Coronavirus as a WWII-like effort of our whole society acting together to defeat a major problem.

Love the points she’s making on her Twitter about a collection of policies being necessary, especially the need to include a federal jobs guarantee. We need to decarbonize the entire American economy. The fed should be creating union jobs to do that as first priority, rather than focus on handing everyone $1000 a month to sit on our asses.

i do keep seeing this (or glimpses at least) but i am giving benefit of the doubt as she is still a progressive leader for all intents and purposes and i think this is mainly a sort of damage control for how much controversy and vitriol she inspired early on, so i can’t be mad at that (for the moment)

the major hurdle bernie has had in calling out the establishment and media (as he rightfully should,) is no boomer voter wants to ALSO be seen as the complicit in voting and supporting terrible people in the past and taking the media’s word for it as gospel

THEY KNOW it’s f***ed, they just don’t want to seem personally responsible so they put blinders on it. It’s why Trump was so effective in railing against “the establishment” when he did it - he was effectively railing against dems and Obama, not his own party (largely) or voting base

bernie has had an uphill battle in doing this with the democratic base , and he’s obviously HAD to do it, but i can’t even suggest an alternative direction he could’ve taken to avoid this hurdle, imo
