How did Bernie go from winning Michigan in 2016 to polling so low behind Biden?

Well if polls are to be believed, Biden looks to be beating Bernie in the rust belt that Bernie beat Hillary in last time around. If voters there are more enthusiastic about Biden than they were about Hillary, then one could assume he would have better turn out in those states in the general than she did. And he only needs a few thousand more votes than her to close the gap, assuming Trump performs similarly to the 2016 election. I think Trump will likely do better than he did last time but Biden looks like he may do significantly better than she did.

You think all those previous polls triggered a higher turnout among Bernie Bros? Like if I saw a bunch of polls predicting a landslide Biden victory, I'd be extra motivated to go out and vote for Bernie.

yeah i mean i don’t think they were literally juicing the polls or anything but i do think they weren’t taking into account how the specific turn out would go - plus Biden been “gaffing” all over the place (now against the f***ing union in michigan, the idiot) and i don’t think they youth ever have really answered polls (despite idk how they actually gather their info typically, tho) but the concerted effort on all fronts to take down President Sanders seems to be crumbling
