Big day in the history of Bernard Sanders and the Democratic party.
4 years ago, after months of being treated unfairly by the media and party establishment, Trump schlonged the rest of the field on Super Tuesday. This signaled to the RNC that it was pretty much inevitable, yet they still threw everything they could at him for the next 2 months...until one day, it was over.
Post-nomination, Trump has been able to coalesce the Republican party behind him, turning a once broken and directionless party into a force that took down the most establishment-backed candidate of all time. Simply put, he taught them how to win.
Can Bernie do the same today? After 4+ years of attacks and smears on him and his supporters, today is the chance for them to take control of the party like Donald and his movement did 4 years ago.
Will he be able to deliver a decisive win, or is his support overstated? If its the former, then his next test will be to rally the party behind him, something he very may well be capable of doing, despite what the establishment media wants people to believe. With his charisma and many's hatred for the opposing candidate he'll be able garner support - again, just like Trump in '16. But if its the latter we may see a Democratic party that hasn't been this fractured since 1972. The real question then becomes - does Bernie roll over and let the DNC rub his belly for a second time, or does he and his supporters fight back like Trump did and take over the party through sheer force of will?
Fun times ahead.
