In our system now most medical professionals are overwhelmed, even while people have limited access. If the flood gates open how will medical sector be able to handle such an influx.
Using logic with them will get you blocked
fr wondering how this is gonna shake up super tuesday..
i guess something i dont understand is why not do this sooner im sure they sensed under performances in SC anyway for amy and pete but they really waited till after early voting still ended in super tuesday states knowing they would probably have to end up endorsing biden. timing is just confusing if nothing else.
Biden was looking weak for a second there, we all thought he was done and Bloomberg would take his place, so the moderates remained in the race to cause a brokered convention. But now that Biden seems strong enough to carry himself after South Carolina, the moderates have figured that he’ll probably get more votes than anyone besides Bernie, so they should make it so that he may overtake him
It adds up. But lets say worst case scenario: it doesn’t add up.
Just cut the military budget or raise taxes on the rich.
Remember: in the golden age of economics the top marginal tax rate was 70-93%. It has been done and it has worked wonderfully.
Do you think the president can just do this with the snap of his fingers?
Do you know how budgets work?
preventative care means less chronic illnesses, over a period of time the system because less overwhelmed than it is now
People are always going to be in pain. People will continue to age. Especially in a MFA system, anyone with a slight problem will go to the ER. I’m not sure about you, but my avg ER wait time is 2 hours on a light day. I don’t see how a free system will alleviate the already overflow of people.
still a risky strategy cause really don't know how joe is really gonna hold up moving forward but glad no more over crowded awful yelling over eachother debate stages.

I’m not trying to disagree lol I’m just trying to understand the other side and see the problems that their policy may have

4 years of trump and people like you still pretending the president doesn't wield enormous power.
someone get the wrath of khan parasite worm out of warren’s ear so she drops out and endorses bernie. Can’t overstate how much that would help his odds for tomorrow.

Sychosis thinks the US can pull 100 trillion from its ass when Trump can’t get 20 Billion for a wall
and yes the president does have control over the budget. he can veto the entire f***ing thing
Remember, it’s unrealistic for plans that EVERY industrialized nation has but this is ok
https://twitter.com/aoc/status/1069307293752279040it's 32T over a 10 year period, no? The 21T quoted is over a 17 year period. if you extend that to match the same time period, then that's another 22.4T, bringing the total to 54.4T. that brings it to 39%, which is still a big chunk but not the two thirds that she makes it out to be
im all for this sentiment, we need to hold those who just throw away money like this accountable. but its also important that we are honest about figures

the reason nurses and doctors are overworked is because its a profit-based system, this means creating a reserve pool of labor by hiring less people in order to drive wages down and create a "competitive" labor market.

the entire purpose of her candidacy is to block bernie and it always was. F*** every half-assed "progressive" who spent the past year pushing her bullshit
If Warren doesn't drop out by Wednesday she's clearly become a political hag and doesn't care about her movement anymore her and Bernie agree on 98% of things. Warren probably won't even win her home State tomorrow.
She needs to drop out because if she does about 80% of her supporters will goto Sanders meaning that he'll get a big boost, probably enough to put him over the top.
Ehh i doubt it would be that high of Warren supporters switching to Bernie...feel like most of her supporters that are sticking with her are Never Bernie people lol

i think canada's been tossing around potential solutions for this when happening in some of their more major cities like segmenting patients and allowing availability to more long term beds and opening nurses clinics ran by nurses and PA's to treat the things like minor wounds and the 'everyone with a migraine' type cases they may get
havent done too much reading into this but i think this has been discussed in some of their news websites for a couple years
Wait imma dumb or isnt this what we wanted
Dsnt bernie clean MN 90 delagates now
There is still no guarantee since there are a lot of people there that probably voted for her early
But yes, short term this is probably good for him (in MN at least), but long term it's extremely problematic since most of her support will likely switch to Joe.

I have never heard a doctor x nurse x surgeon say “I can’t find a job, nobody is hiring”

This is my local hospital
Bold prediction but I think warren drops today too
Despite her attcks on bernie up until last debate she still said “bernie has good ideas, progressive ideas win”
I think she will
Idk she’s let me down but i feel she’ll do the right thing
I saw someone who's opinions i respect on FB say that he thought Warren was trying to set herself up as Bernie's attack dog during the last debate.
Idk if i agree with that, but I could see it. Maybe(hopefully) she's just trying to hold out for Bernie to promise her a job in his administration?
He & Klobs are most likely backing Biden
If he wanted to hurt Bernie, endorsing Warren might be more damaging tbh

Do you think the major population differences between countries will cause a major difference?

lol imagine Warren sincerely believing in progressive ideas
Appreciate the HQ fam. I’ve just done some quick research on the Medicare subject. Is the benefit of MFA worth the cost of cutting wages of workers in the medical field?
I’ve heard this talking point before and it will not. What’s eating the doctors income is malpractice insurance because future medical costs are a big part of malpractice settlements. This would be removed under M4A. The lower the chances for settlements means lower premiums for doctors.

Fair enough point I will look into that. But on the other side of the coin, how do we handle the limited amount of medical professionals with would be opening the flood gates of people upon them
