If somebody runs nationally as independent, everyone would assume he had no chance of winning. We’ve been so conditioned to think there’s only 2 parties that matter so nobody is willing to give any other group the time of day in the fears of a wasted vote. The only way to solve it is that if one party faces defeat after defeat and is forced to break apart somehow

For America’s entire history there’s only been 2 parties that mattered, and this current set of parties has been dominant for the past 150 years and it’s not like people care more now than they did back then. If the people feel some type of way then the parties will restructure themselves to accommodate them
