It's not a disgusting comment if he said something about how it would be more difficult for a woman to win the presidency. That's damn near a fact. I don't see how that's controversial or sexist. It's ACKNOWLEDGING sexism.
It's different if he said "a woman SHOULDN'T" OR "CAN'T be president". But no one is saying that.
