Dems really on some f***ing idiotic s*** for not going HAM since April to make their main focus be to put election/vote by mail safeguards in place, like full on media blitz type s***.

I've been saying this for a minute, and they've just been super lethargic about it. It's either already too late, or about to become too late.

wouldn't be the Dems if they weren't dropping the ball somewhere

  • Aug 8, 2020

the Democrats are habitually complete pussies. makes you wonder if they’re even trying at all...

i think you have two sects within the dem party. i don't really believe establishment cronies like Pelosi genuinely want biden to win. the DNC has been making bank off of Trump being president and i can't imagine they want to lose another 4 years of insane fundraising and free PR, esp for their media buddies. plus they'll probably steamroll 2024 for the presidency if trump wins again.
on the other side you have actual progressives (like the recent nominated Cori Bush for example, or idk, people like Omar or Tlaib), who want actual policy reform and aren't just playing dumb political games

    Interesting, didn't consider that

The dnc isn’t really making more money now than they were when Obama was president tho. opensecrets.org/parties/totals.php?cycle=2010&cmte=DNC
Plus Mitch McConnell is blocking the majority of bills that these establishment dems are introducing, which would make their constituents thing they’re inefficient and vote them out
I don’t think the establishment guys want that much of a dramatic change like the progressives do, but they have more of an incentive to have trump out of office than not

you're right post-2016 they did significantly in 2016, the 2016 amount far exceeds that of even 2008 or 2012. however PR-wise the wider democratic party and its allies have never had better PR except for maybe Obama in the 2008 election (although after it was shifted to defensive PR - however this is kind of my point, because republicans built a massive coalition 2008-2016 doing nothing at all except complaining, which ended up working for them; even know they play offensive tactics - the reason they haven't banned abortion or anything, since they get votes off of complaining about it being legal). it's just an easier position for them to be in to complain about Trump and preach "party unity" and "existential threats" then to have to deal with inner-party breaks like establishment vs progressives (which is becoming harder to ignore). plus this isn't even mentioning party allies and organizations

  • i also just want to point out democrats look like absolute morons here:
    nbcnews.com/politics/congress/trump-sign-executive-order-coronavirus-economic-relief-n1236202?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_np

    yes, the trump EO is not great, however, it;
    -extends unemployment
    -defers loans & evictions
    -cuts payroll taxes

the optics of suing to repeal an order deferring evictions is absolutely moronic. even if it's technically republicans and democrats being in a deadlock in congress that forced the EO to begin with, suing to repeal this without having a direct ready-to-go alternative is one of the stupidest optic actions perhaps ever

Dems really f***ed up thinking they have any leverage in negotiations. They haven't won s*** yet, nothing is on lock. You have to prove to the American people that you will do what it takes to keep the country going, even if it's a major sacrifice.

they very easily could have steamrolled this election even with Biden as the candidate but while I thought this would be a clear shot for Biden like 2 months ago their recent actions make me increasingly doubtful

Ehh yeah it's a bad look for Dems. But I think at the end of the day, these executive orders are super small measures in the grand scheme of things, and most people will definitely see it that way.

So the optics of Dems suing (when what Trump is doing IS indeed unconstitutional, and Congress should not roll over and let the separation of powers just die) are not going to be THAT big of a deal, when they can easily make the case that it was Republicans that didn't want to make a deal with them to get a legitimate package put together and these executive orders are just some smokescreen.

it just really looks terrible at a time when democrats need optics more than anything. i hate making this comparison but FDR did a lot of unconstitutional stuff too and the optics of opposing him are kind in part what allowed him to absolutely steamroll opposition because of the image/message he could rubberstamp on it. the only winning parties attached him from further in his direction (i.e. Huey Long), and did it at least in a way where the messaging of the opposition was impossible to ignore.

Y’all following the next big incumbent justice dems are primarying next month?

They’re tryna redo cory bushs win basically

So a college campus group put out this letter saying the 30 yr old small town mayor challenging richard neal had relationships w 20yr olds

And basically his whole infrastructure of college students is collapsing now cus they’re cancelling him

And I remember why i hate white gen z leftists so f***ing much

I feel our gen while we’ve also internalized the economic populist rhetoric were also deep by products of neoliberal identity politics on steroids

Like I’m social justice person through and through but so many in our gen have corrupted the s***

A 30 yr old man choosing to date other consenting adults isnt illegal so mind your f***ing business he wasnt a lecturer to any of the students or their boss so no direct power dynamics so why the f***k do you care what two adults are doing!???!?

When did leftism delve into the business of moral puritanism

Like is he actively seeking out 20yr olds? Has he been with people his age or older? You see where this leads? Policing adults private lives

Like bruh these are adults!!! Is it weird? Maybe a little but only in as much as our own personal beliefs. You can’t just police these things so leave it the f*** alone

Leo dicap exclusively f***s 20 years olds

  • Aug 9, 2020

Saw some green haired f*** refer to these 20 yr olds as survivors

Americas left movement needs to attract more young and middle aged poc ASAP from poor and middle class backgrounds bcus the current voter base I fundamentally disagree with on a few things smh

“Well theyre campus political junkies and he’s a mayor of a city of 8k so for their aspirations there’s a dynamic”

    Who the f*** cares

Can white people not date people cus of societal privilege they hv

What about a rich person dating a poor person? Don’t they have financial privilege ?

There are two questions you greenhaired f***s should ask yrselfs? Was there a direct established mode of power imbalance (ie teacher, boss)? No? Ok

    We’re they underaged? Nope ok

Then stop being moral puritanical weirdos and mind yr business so this establishment ghoul can be successfully primaried

When people say Biden is the lesser of two evils, we have to ask over and over, for who? Certainly not for these children and their families, or for any palestinians.

Lesser of two evils in at the very least covid response. More people would surely die from covid if trump was re-elected than if Biden was elected
