Man, the good polls keep coming for Biden. If yall are peeping the state polling (and national polling) it's looking like December in the Dem Primary for Biden. Just up comfortably in pretty much every state (besides the hyper red ones like Alabama, Kentucky, etc.).

Need that 538 model to drop ASAPPPPPP

Seems like Latino voters are starting to come around on him, too

And people are still trying to say that Trump is going to crush him

a lot of people are saying this because the chances of him winning in 2016 were vastly understated, i mean you had networks estimating him winning at 5-10%; there was SIGNIFICANT pushback against him everywhere, even within the GOP to a small extent. Now he has actual even odds being reported and arguably more support than he had in 2016, plus there's a lot of pushback against Biden (albeit not as much as Hillary). It's not hard to see why a lot of people think he has such good odds

Amy f***ing Klobuchar. I might actually jump out a window. What did we do to deserve this?!

I remember she let it slip she would be VP a while back.

it’s just an excuse the dems use to keep people from leaving the party

    In 2012 it was #neveromney
    In 2008 it was #nevermccaine
    In 2004 it was #neverbush

Moderates claiming that next election progressives can vote for whoever but this election they “must vote for the lesser of two evils” will be saying #neverwhoevertherepubkican is in 2024

Without question when you got one guy who has voter enthusiasm doubling the other guy you gotta look at that and say that it's gonna be close at least, but I will say that comparing to 2016 isn't wise.

Hillary was one of the worst Presidential Candidates ever. She is one of the most polarizing politicians ever. Biden is the complete and total opposite, he's insanely vanilla.

People in 2016 were saying that it was Hillary's race to lose, and that's exactly what happened, people absolutely despise her, and actively voted against her. That's not the case with Biden (besides like the 1% of Bernie Bros, and even they aren't actively going to be voting for Trump).

  • May 22, 2020

Liberals called 2012 the “most important election of our lives” when it was centrist-right in Romney vs centrist-left in Obama

They’ll do the same thing in 2024,2028,2032

I definitely get where you're coming from, but there's definitely no enthusiasm about Biden. Don't get me wrong, it's not necessarily, like, the amount of anti-sentiment which was given to Hillary, but instead it's been replaced with an amount of extreme milquetoast lack of enthusiasm - people don't necessarily dislike him, but they only like him because he isn't trump, not because he's Biden. Also let's be honest, he's an incredibly easy target for republicans. This isn't to say Biden doesn't have a chance, I'm just trying to give a fair evaluation to why a lot of people still think trump has an edge

Oh no doubt. I mean, it's entirely possible that Biden could lose because of all that stuff you said in your post. In fact, right after Super Tuesday (before the Corona Virus stuff went front page) I basically said the same exact thing. I really didn't see how Biden could possibly beat Trump when Trump's base is DIE HARD, and Biden doesn't really even have a base lmao.

However, my view has taken a huge shift since then. I don't know how much is due to all of the corona virus and economy stuff that has happened (although there's no denying that it is by far the biggest factor in this election), but I am inclined to think now that even if the Corona Virus never happened that Biden might have still had a shot.

We'll never know for sure, but what's certain now is that Trump has no tangible "assets" to lean on (like the economy). He's playing defense, and he doesn't do well when that's the case (as seen by his recent polling numbers). It's hard to imagine things getting better by November, in fact sadly I only see them getting worse. And in that case it's hard to see Trump's position doing anything but slipping even more.

This election will be decided by middle age and old white voters in the mid west that are usually "undecided". They decided to not vote for Hillary last time at the last minute. Hard to see them making the same choice this time when there's a crisis going on, and one guy is extremely erratic and unpredictable.

Trump’s approval rating during Corona has never gotten worse than it was his first 3 years in office, and he still has a majority approval on the economy. His handling of corona specifically is negative 11, which may be a real bad sign for him if it doesn’t improve. But his voter base, just like in 16, is showing in polls that they are a lot more enthusiastic and more likely to actually go out and vote. If you factor in the enthusiasm gap in the 2016 polls, that painted a very accurate picture, much more so than the polls themselves did. Then add on that Trump’s favorability is significantly higher than it was when he was elected.

But, Biden is a lot more likable than HRC, so that may help him significantly.

It's crazy how it took Tara Reade literally lying under oath about a bachelor's degree and her position under Biden (She stated she worked as a Legislative Assistant who helped on the Violence Against Woman Act (LMAO, BIDEN DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHO SHE IS)), in order for people to believe she was lying.

    nytimes.com/2020/05/21/us/politics/tara-reade-credentials.html
She literally deadass lied about getting her degree

and it was debunked the same day

    nytimes.com/2020/05/21/us/politics/tara-reade-credentials.html

Now she's in trouble for perjury
    politico.com/news/2020/05/21/tara-reade-biden-expert-testimony-274460

This s*** is f***ed. It really hurts the MeToo and BelieveWomen movements. Jeez, 2 women literally got life in prison due to a case she testified on that swayed the jury's opinion. Holy f***

How do you even deal with people like Reade or O'Donnell's niece, who use fabricated claims of sexual assault in politicized ways?

Literally anything you do just hurts actual victims of sexual assault... The s*** is f***ed, damn

OK LOWKEY, THIS IS FUNNY AS HELL

"I worked with Joe Biden, Legislative Assistant... You know, that Joe Biden, Crime Act Joe Biden... STROM THURMMOND JOE BIDEN. YES, THAT JOE BIDEN!"

She legit just sounds like she uses Joe Biden as a constant source of clout

I found this piece about VP selection super interesting from the New York Times today:

"When pundits talk about the selection process, they often imagine that a vice-presidential nominee can excite voters from the same state or demographic group. But there is little evidence that’s true.

In 2016, Tim Kaine didn’t seem to help Hillary Clinton win more white men. In 2012, Paul Ryan didn’t help Mitt Romney win Wisconsin, and John Edwards didn’t win North Carolina in 2004 for John Kerry.

Only one strategy has a long track record of success: ticket balancing. Winning presidential candidates have often chosen running mates with obviously different political personas — who shore up weaknesses at the top of a ticket.

Consider: Donald Trump, a divorced reality-television star, chose a religious conservative. Barack Obama and George W. Bush, both worried about seeming inexperienced, chose party elders. Ronald Reagan, who was labeled a radical conservative, chose an establishment figure: George H.W. Bush."

They use it to make the point that Warren may be his best choice (I've said on here many times why I think she creates more problems than she solves).

But I do find that piece on its own very interesting. I have usually looked at vp selection the opposite way: choose someone who helps you electorally in a state you need to win. But looking at those past results is eye opening. I always thought the "balance" argument was stupid, but I definitely see that it has merit now.

COVID-19 is the housing crisis/economic collapse of 2008 for Biden. If he can't beat the least popular incumbent in modern history during this crisis he's the worst major party nominee of all time.

  • 2016 election was the worst ever and this one is going to be 10x times worse. there needs to be a reckoning on both sides of the aisle. the system is completely broken
