0yes but i would say a lesson the USA could learn from Germany is to actually ban confederate memorabilia (Nazi stuff is heavily monitored and illegal)
and look to the country's history as a lesson, not hating it to the point where you can't even let someone sing the national anthem
in germany they also play their anthem without people thinking it's a call back to that horrible time however patriotic it may be
but that's the thing, changing the national anthem to one that didn't come from a slave master would also be seen as blue haired twitter virtue signalling rethoric
The same rethoric you see now is the one that was brought up when protesters were defacing slave owners statues and bringing down confederate flags lol. this is why you gotta understand that this convo is not about "nationalistic pride", it's about keeping the status quo through all means even if it's racist lol. You're not american, you should be able to see the stupid mindset lol imagine the germans singing a nazi anthem or doing that gesture in the name of national pride or "celebrating your ancestors"
