I’ll never get the “made it age badly” thing. Such a confusing concept to me

Losing and rebuttals just don’t make tracks age different for me. This is still an all timer. All the songs of this battle are all timers, this is the battle of all time. The top 5 diss songs of all time are all from this battle

    How is it confusing?

Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior
Engraving your name in some hip-hop history
If you deal with this viciously

    F*** this Canadian lightskin, Dot
We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man
Call him a b**** for me
Talk about him likin' young girls, that's a gift from me

He was on some cocky s*** and accidentally predicted his demise in the beef.

And that’s not even getting into the fact that the whole premise of the song is that Kendrick was scared to drop that day because Taylor swift owns him or controls his release schedule or whatever when that was obviously just projection on Drakes part. That whole angle was stupid af looking back at it

Diss tracks don’t exist in a vacuum. Just cause the song was nice when it came out doesn’t mean it’s always gonna be good

Yeah I don’t get it either. There’s moments on both sides that have aged “badly”. Doesn’t change that the moment was still a good moment at the time it came out.

I really just think the concept of things “aging poorly” is cope for people to say things are bad but they know damn well it’s good, so they have to say some time passed that made it bad somehow. It’s hilarious to even think of.

Also, if Drake doesn’t drop this song, we don’t get the Kendrick disses, not a single one. He absolutely was not going to follow through but the pac thing lit the fire under him. So I give this song a lot of credit for actually making the battle go the distance. Without this song, Like That is just another Control moment

Never forget that Kendrick’s album was supposed to drop in June. He planned on just doing like that as promo and dropping an album, the same usual routine of tough talk on a feature to promote an album about saving the world. But Drake held him to the fire and said nah not this time. That is the sole reason that we got the rest of the battle and gnx. Drake calling him out and making him follow through didn’t age poorly. Drake forced Kendrick’s hand and UMG stepped in to help

I just gave you two examples of how the lyrics aged poorly, and that’s just from the first verse. Trash talk/being cocky ages poorly if you end up losing. This is basic human s*** that we all understand. Especially when you sarcastically tell the guy to beat you exactly the way he ended up beating you. but for whatever reason you’re trying to give Drake a participation trophy.

When Klay Thompson said that s*** about LeBron in 2016 people laughed in the moment and then it aged like s*** when they lost. Nobody says it didn’t age bad and it was a great moment because it lit a fire under LeBron. That’s stupid af.

Also that second point is just a silly assumption with no type of evidence to back it up. Not even worth responding to it fr.

It just means things don’t hold the same weight they did when they dropped

It’s like if someone was always saying they’d whoop anyone’s ass then they get their ass beat. It just doesn’t hold weight anymore because we know it ain’t true

This is where the “drake is spiraling” opinions came from, he dropped twice and was provoking Kendrick constantly and got exactly what he wished for

Thank god he was so f***in stupid we got some classic diss songs, the pop out, GNX, and a stadium tour from it

I just think the concept of things aging poorly is a young person concept, I can’t even fathom thinking about things like that

You know what didn’t age badly? He said Taylor swift owned him and then kendrick dropped an album produced by Jack antanoff. one of the biggest sell out moves in rap history that no one talks about- this is like if 2pac got with Shania Twain’s producer after Hit Em Up

How does Jack antonoff producing on GNX = Taylor Swift owns him? Again, that’s pretty stupid.

I guess Young Nudy owns Carti because they both have albums produced by Pierre.

Jack Antanoff and Sounwave (Kendrick’s main producer) have a pretty close relationship. I believe they even have a production group name
