im really hoping this is a decent RTW and not just what gives us the most ROI and mass market appeal to middle class consumers who want to buy into the yzy brand

i genuinely am praying for some yzy season 1-3 looks done with great material, focus on drape and silhouette

if he's inviting fashion influencers like ly.as i imagine there is at least some sort of artistic integrity here, but if it's just the cheap $20 stuff hes been selling past few years im super out

i hope its more focused on actual clothes this time since he seemingly isn't ever gonna make real shoes with actual designs and logos and tooling ever again lol

but i already know its gonna be a bunch of minimalist no logo funny sized bullshit lol

i would like to believe his back is against the wall to be relegitmized in fashion, because his value and respect was always in contention

but this nigga is breaking unthinkable records after saying the gnarliest s*** against everybody with a weak ass apology to follow

he might just do whatever, but i really hope there's some young designers on the team that are trying to make a real statement with the yzy brand as a vehicle. but who knows

the best and brightest are in demand at way way way more respectable houses so i wonder what yzy can offer other than money and creative freedom. if this goes well it can establish itself as the house to go to if you're coming out of a central saint martin and want full creative freedom

but realistically it will just be more of the same without adidas funding... which will suck

a lot of what made those early yzy season s*** so special was how heavily he was freely quoting the best of the best archives behind an unprecedented budget

if he puts all his tour money into this it would be really interesting

Idk man he’s been trying to bridge that gap of high fashion and average consumer. There’s a good chance he’s going to stay in that lane. Also the stuff currently on his website isn’t terrible. Just a bunch of basic looking stuff really.

compared to the stuff we were getting in yzy season 1, the stuff i seen from people online, its a wide margin in quality

I won’t argue there for sure. I also don’t think it’s terrible though, like I said just really basic cuts and designs. I think recently the big miss has been with shoes. The pods and SL-01s especially.
