anyways, i noticed that these days pretty much any new sound becomes emulated within a few months by tons of online producers. i feel like it gotta have some impact on the genre but i cant rly explain it

theres much more material. much more practice for rappers and producers.. its public so people listen to a lot more and make a lot more

didnt think of it like this, i always thought of it in a negative light but ig ur right that it could at least give artists and listeners more variety

but the issue is that its all cookie cutter and similar sounding

as a prod who also saw the entirety of this trend play out, i always felt like it was more bad than good because it basically makes a financial incentive to not be creative, which ultimately drowns out the creative producers and forces everyone to make some type beat that isnt original at all

i remember taz would s*** on my beats while others fw them heavy, cus he had that mentality like if it dont sound mainstream ready then its not worth making

it took 10 years for more alternative sounds to start becoming mainstream (osamason) so now i actually can make type beats that i genuinely love
