I got into it when the AJ1 University Blue dropped (2021?). Probably sold around 50 pairs through a consignment store but the market's dead now. I was unemployed throughout 2021 and 2022, only got a job in July 2023. Since I had that job, I just had no interest in trying for sneakers anymore. Market is definitely dead, people aren't sleeping outside the way they did a few years ago. And I'm not getting the money I was back then. Still have like 10 pairs I'm trying to sell
Overall glad that it's happening. The whole scene was douchy rich kids trying to show off or sketchy gangsters pulling up with like 20 people trying to game the raffle. Sucked when you were trying to buy a pair you actually want for personal use
when royals bricked that’s when you know it’s up. it’s good tho that now you can pretty much get what you want and don’t feel pressured you can just cop stuff for more or less retail and enjoy it
They bricked because they’re not the royals people wanted, just like the patent bred 1’s. The same is gonna happen with the black toes and the leather bred 4’s. Like I said all the good version of the sneakers we wanted already came out. There’s no need to get the “I just got into sneakers” versions that are dropping now.
Hijacking this thread to put this out there. It was rather obvious shady stuff was going on. It is a shame but take a peek at this thread.
I doubt Travis has any say in it but if he knows about it and doesn’t care then that’s an L 100% lol

how would travis have zero say when it comes to his e-commerce site, like cactus jack is his, right?
I can write an essay about this tbh cause i worked at a small sneaker franchise on the side up until recently so i’ve seen attitude change in sneakers entirely
but the downfall is crazy to witness knowing it pretty much killed a community that once marveled over the legacy behind certain shoes to it being another hustle culture victim and highkey a gentrified hobby by the clout chasers who can’t even put together an original fit
now i wouldn’t mind a resurgence in hooping shoes again cause that’s honestly what got me into sneakers not no designer s*** like these kids now lmao

Supposedly lol he had a team though for sure and has not not give a f*** what happens knowing him

Prolly got told to take it down smh idk if you saw or not but apparently Trav & his team willingly backdooring his shoes & Jordan isn’t too thrilled about it
Reselling + the companies doing fake limited to build hype
Which leads to people being mad af and bug fakes, which makes it harder to get ahold of authentic pairs
Games f***ed up
maybe in the usa, here in the third world the resell market is just starting
I'm in a third world country and s***'s pretty dead over here too. Peaked in that COVID/Last Dance era

I'm in South Africa. People not really paying mark up for legit hype items anymore. Most just get fakes. Can't tell you how many plastic foam rnnrs I see everyday
