Crazy how much being lyrical is frowned upon these days lol
After all those different eras in rap when people claimed lyricism was coming back
Having a balance was always the key though. Nas was a balance. Early Lupe during the ringtone era was a balance.
Kendrick right now is the balance.

Idk what is up with this anti-intellectual movement people are on. Not saying lyrical rappers will make you smart, but I'm talking about music that at least gets your mind thinking about different subjects, concepts, etc. I love my "vibey" atmospheric music, but sometimes I want my music to speak to s*** going on around me in my life.
Don't even know who this dude is. "Legend" this nigga ain't no BigQuint I tell you that much.
the narrative you can’t vibe to lyrical music is lazy. just cus somebody putting effort in the lyrics doesn’t mean you can’t just vibe to the beat. it’s not the 90s anymore thanks to people like ATCQ and lupe artists make music now that’s lyrical (if you want that) but also cool to listen to if you don’t
