I saw a post from 2009 where someone predicted where certain artists will be throughout the decade

Will Drake still be on top?

Will Kendrick still be putting out classics?

Will Kanye keep putting out gospel albums?

AI rappers are gonna become a thing

Songs will be made by computers and there will no longer be bad music. Every song is gonna have perfect writing, beats, melodies, and mixing.

At some point you will have the option to customize your own songs and albums. You choose the vibe you want.

Music as we know it is like horses before there was cars and planes, they're the stepping stone to a bigger concept that is currently unimaginable with our current technology

Drake Kendrick and Cole are gonna be in their post music careers through business ventures and whatnot after the early 2020s

But they'll be more relevant with the youth than Jay/Em/Wayne were after the early 2010s

TikTok will really take over in 2020, before it gets shut down 2021-22 because of IG

    In my unbiased opinion:

Drake will be on top until about 2023

Kendrick will lose relevancy around 2025 due to not dropping enough music, he will still be regarded as a legend though.

Cole will lose musical relevancy around 2021, but will remain an icon in music and most likely start some sort of podcast or interview YouTube / Video channel.

SoundCloud/memehead rappers (already irrelevant pretty much) will be completely forgotten about.

Twitter specifically and other older social media platforms lose impact on bandwagon opinions (Twitter is actually dying and losing members every month), but new era social media platforms like TikTok will eventually be used to create decent music of all genres and Generation Z artists will use it to promote their music.

As the whole 2010s decade ages, the music will age very poorly except for the staple albums that defined the era.

NBA Youngboy becomes a top 5 superstar, along with Travis, and maybe Post Malone (even though he's not really a rapper).

Street rap (as it's already getting bigger again) will add more styles to it and become even bigger until about 2022 when it becomes oversaturated.

A new type of rap where the artists are more humble and don't partake in braggadocios type lyrics or turn up s*** will become the front runner due to relatable music. The style will become a complete turn around of what we have right now.

Lots more diversity in the mainstream becomes popular again as well.
