I wish I could still listen to Tyler the way I did when this dropped

I've never been one to care what artists people think are cool or not cool, so I don't think it's caused by the internet's gradual turn against Tyler, but there's just something about him recently that makes 95% of everything he's done since CMIYGL feel so grating and off putting to me. And I'm not even just talking about his music, though it does fall under that umbrella.

like yea he's always been kinda purposefully obnoxious and over the top, but I think there was a level of self-awareness behind it then that he's lost with age, leading to some sort of self-flanderization that everyone can subconciously pick up on even if they can't actually verbalize what changed

or maybe everybodies' frontal lobes just finished developing idk

i enjoy it a lot but the woah vicky reference just pisses me off

I actually remember generally enjoying chromakopia, and even a few songs on dont tap the glass, but neither of them stayed in rotation for more than a few weeks for whatever reason

And now when I hear a clip from either of those albums (besides a few songs I really enjoyed, ex. darling i, like him, sugar on my tongue, ring ring ring, there's def more), or especially any recent feature verses from him, I just have this borderline physical reaction towards his voice lol (negative not positive )

And I hate to say that because I always thought Tyler was overhated and an incredibly talented / passionate musician.

Felt that way for so long, but it's crazy looking back cause he was treated like a saint back then compared to how people talk about him now

tl/dr idk if the vibe shift on tyler is just people's aesthetic and cultural preferences shifting away from who he is or if he's truly become a caricature of himself and everyone can feel it

but honestly i cant listen to baby voice carti these days s*** just sounds ridiculous

not that his raspy voice is that much better but still
