But recently I feel like I've talked to quite a few women who are like the opposite or the female version of that. That think things like "I don't care for this guy but I'm gonna let him buy me things or spend money on me even though I'm not interested" they view men are purely piggy banks and exploit and manipulate them as such.

I want to clarify I'm not saying just because as a guy if you buy a girl a drink or a meal she owes you anything but I feel like the least she owes you is a genuine attempt to establish a connection. The guy is spending money because you're spending your time with him. The expectation is you're allowing yourself to be spoiled in exchange for an open mind. The women I'm referring to say yes to the gifts and getting spoiled but they do it already knowing that they're not interested and are just looking to be spoiled.

Mix men who view women as objects in with women who view men as objects and you get this diaspora of two sides who either can't or don't want to connect

Nah that's just common courtesy for me, personally. If i take a girl out I would at the very minimum buy her a drink. If she doesn't feel there is enough connection for a second date, then I won't feel any type of way about it and certainly not bitter.

For me a meal should be split between both parties; and this should be communicated prior to the date, ideally.
