I haven’t had a real vacation my entire life. Every year I burn all of my time off whenever I get sick. My “vacations” tend to be combining comp days with work travel or relocation and training periods where I give myself like 4-6 days in a row to see some sights, or periods of complete unemployement where i burn through my savings to finally have some fun. Covid was the only real fun times ive had in awhile. Do people actually plan out and go on real vacations or is that only something for people in the upper class or europe?

but that's more stressful than my day to day

my ideal vacation is solo
or if I have a long term partner one day, with them
no children

lots of ppl I work with or see every now and then be in their 50s still working 12 hr 15 hr days, no breaks, no holidays.. and it's like, I respect the grind, the hustle but F***, man... I can't do it

I am not really a person who values travel a lot either tbh, I'd rather cultivate a day to day life that I just feel is enjoyable, but it might be nice to experience that disconnect

2-3 weeks in December/first week of January every year and at least 2-3 shorter vacations throughout the year

Traveling is big in my family albeit mostly domestic sans some Caribbean islands or Mexico. Next year Thailand and Japan are on the table so I’m pumped

Been to Mexico it was amazing.. i need to go back

Been to all of the cool states in the US. Internationally I’ve been to Guatemala, Abu Dhabi & Maldives, planning on hitting Brazil this winter!

Yes but you shouldn't compare yourself. Not everyone can afford to travel so sometimes a vacation is just disconnecting

Also don't be like a lot of people and go in debt or overextend yourself financially just to go in a trip and post pics

I'm 25 and I've seen half of the world and have taken multiple years off.
Australia 2x 1 year, South Africa, Seychelles, Guatemala, California, all of Europe, Asia, Brazil, Argentina. I really wanna see Mexico, China and Marokko and Iceland.
