  • The project is based on upcoming novel from Matt Aldrich after sources say the studio preemptively landed rights to it last week. Details are being kept under wraps, but the pitch has been billed as an elevated sci-fi thriller revolving around the pursuit of eternal life. Jenkins and Aldrich will be adapting from Aldrich’s unpublished manuscript.

kinda feels like repeat formula of Twisters last year

Universal Pictures get an intimateish indieish director to do a genre/blockbuster play with Glen Powell.

Last time it was Lee Isaac Chung going from Minari to Twisters, with some star wars stuff in between

this time its Barry Jenkins going from Moonlight/Beale Street to this movie, with lion king in between

It seems like Barry trying to get the best of both worlds with this. Studio backed film while doing something original
