    they more than likely are/have

  • Kellzz

    they more than likely are/have

It’s good to see films still making massive profits though.

I do my part to support even smaller movies in cinema when I can

  • Dying out to an extent yeah but they aren't completely disappearing

It feels like some are adapting well like the real downtown one in my city that sells a bunch of booze, shows a ton of small run type movies/Indies, and throws big ass parties like rocky horror picture show 4+ times a year

I'm sad we lost drive in theaters out here before I could even drive. Only got to go to them 2x and I don't even remember what I saw

  • What is this 2018?

Look at the numbers Minecraft put up

Look at the numbers Barbie and Oppenheimer did a few wars ago

  • Covid almost killed it. But it’s been trending back up

  • sheeiit Sinners was prime date night material

  • Jul 3

they almost died but recently i feel like they were on an upswing

  • its been decent

  • People don’t know how to act in the cinema anymore. Way too much ironic watching, people speaking too loud, flashing their phone all over the place.

  • I think the time for the movies being a consistent money driver is kind of over

Now it's all about event pictures

This month with Jurassic World, Superman, and Fantastic Four is going to be huge

Next month with no huge releases is going to be slow

I know I will be going almost weekly until I can't

S*** last month I went to the movies 8 times (thank you AMC A-List)

But I live 2 minutes away from one and I prefer watching movies in a theater

  • Cinema Cafe near me closed. CineBistro closed..then turned into EVO Entertainment...and then that closed.

AMC is the only one standing in the city now.

    Small ones, yes

  • Been a good amount of hit movies last few years tbh

  • Sinners. Dumbass

  • f1 out now

  • It’s becoming more of an event type thing. It’s not really something people go to anymore to ‘waste’ their time, it’s become too expensive for that especially compared to Netflix etc. However, people still want to see the movie everybody is talking about and the one’s going viral on TikTok, therefore cinemas in big cities screening blockbusters will never die out, 70mm screenings for example are constantly sold out everywhere, however if you go to a medium to low budget film your theater will be mostly empty.
