I think it’s safe to say that the site will not be coming back anytime soon at the bare minimum. They have access to the entire site’s infrastructure and it’s using outdated code that none of the staff knows how to fix or clean up.

Apparently the site hasn’t been kept up since ownership was transferred over to someone else.

I don’t know too much either but generally if bad actors get access to your entire source code unbidden yeah that’s pretty much it.

Even if they were to somehow get control of the site back they could easily install back doors that would allow them back in, exploit other bugs in the code, find other vulnerabilities… etc
